The BTL-COP project representatives from the University of Greenwich (UoG) took part in the Security Mission Information & Innovation Group Event 2026 (SMI2G), held in Paris and bringing together a wide community of researchers, practitioners, and innovators working within Horizon Europe.
Organised by SEREN5, the event is one of the key brokerage platforms in the civil security research area. It provides a space for exchanging knowledge, identifying emerging priorities, and supporting collaboration across European projects and stakeholders.
Participation in SMI2G 2026 offered an excellent opportunity to follow ongoing developments in civil security and resilience, while contributing to discussions shaping future research and innovation directions under Horizon Europe. Among the topics addressed, foresight emerged as an important element, supporting discussions on anticipating future challenges and strengthening long-term preparedness within the Horizon Europe framework.
During the event, the UoG team was very pleased to also meet with project partners Valencia PLV and ITML, reinforcing collaboration and enhancing knowledge exchange within the consortium.
The BTL-COP project values such events as important forums for staying connected to the broader research community and for exploring potential synergies with related initiatives across Europe.
