On 26–27 February 2026, BTL-COP partners gathered in London for the project’s first in-person Exploitation Workshop, hosted by the University of Greenwich in collaboration with Second Wave Youth Arts and the Metropolitan Police.
Over two intensive days, the consortium moved beyond planning and into action — focusing on how project results can be translated into real-world impact.
The sessions covered exploitation pathways, communication and dissemination planning, the use of the Security Helix platform, and developments under WP3 — a technological support system designed to strengthen trust-building initiatives and support community–police collaboration in practice. The workshop also hosted the project’s quarterly coordination meeting, enabling partners to align on progress and share insights.
The Exploitation Workshop, led by Croatian partner STEMwise, combined strategic discussions with practical sessions, creating space for partners to explore how BTL-COP tools, methodologies, and knowledge can be effectively used, shared, and sustained beyond the project lifecycle.
A highlight of the programme was the community policing training workshop led by Second Wave Youth Arts and the Metropolitan Police, bringing a grounded, real-life perspective to the project’s ambitions through their “Critical Encounters” approach — an interactive method using real-life scenarios to challenge perceptions, build empathy, and improve communication between police and communities. This exchange reinforced a core principle of BTL-COP: connecting research, policy, and practice in meaningful ways.
More than just a meeting, the London workshop marked an important step in shaping how BTL-COP will deliver impact — ensuring that its results are not only developed, but actively used, shared, and embedded in practice.
As the project progresses, these collaborative moments continue to strengthen the foundations for building trust, leadership, and safer communities across Europe.
