The BTL-COP (Building Trust and Leadership to challenge poverty-driven crime) project officially launched with a two-day kick-off meeting held on 13–14 November 2025 in Zagreb, Croatia, bringing together partners from across Europe.
The meeting marked the start of a collaborative Horizon Europe initiative focused on strengthening trust between communities and police, addressing poverty-related and aporophobia-driven crime, and supporting safer, more resilient communities. Partners discussed the project’s objectives, methodology, pilot activities, and next steps, laying the foundations for joint work over the coming years.
The kick-off coincided with the publication of the project’s official press release by the University of Greenwich, the project coordinator.
