On 28 January 2026, the BTL-COP project was showcased at the first Pitch Match Innovation Forum (PIMIF) organised by the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Training (CEPOL), in cooperation with the European Commission’s DG HOME – Innovation and Security Research Unit. The event took place at CEPOL’s headquarters in Budapest, Hungary.
Representing the University of Greenwich, Melissa Pepper and Amy Moon presented BTL-COP alongside 25 other EU-funded projects, as part of a new initiative designed to bring security innovation directly into the heart of European law enforcement training. The forum focused on translating research and innovation into sustainable practice, operational impact, and long-term European added value.
The Pitch Match Innovation Forum enabled direct interaction between EU-funded projects and CEPOL’s activity managers and instructional designers, supporting targeted matchmaking between research outcomes and real training needs. This approach aims to ensure that innovative project results are not only disseminated, but meaningfully integrated into CEPOL’s training portfolio.
BTL-COP’s participation in the forum supports the project’s broader mission to strengthen trust-based policing, leadership, and community engagement, while contributing to European-level dialogue on how research can inform practice. Engagement in initiatives such as PIMIF helps position BTL-COP within key EU training and innovation ecosystems and supports the sustainability of its results beyond the project’s lifetime.
